Leukemia is a general term for the four different types of blood cancer.
There are two types
of acute leukemias and the two types of chronic leukemia. This cell multiplies
and possibly normal blood cells are squeezed out. Abnormal cells in the blood
can spread and also can invade the central nervous system.
Leukemia symptoms may vary depending on the type of leukemia.
-pale skin
-fatigue
-Moderate fever
-bruises
-shortness of
breath;
-thrombocytopenia
-petechiae
-leg pain
-enlarged spleen
-enlarged liver
-Lymphadenopathy
-headache
-vomiting
-recurring
infections
Thrombocytopenia is a low platelet count. Platelets are blood cells that help blood clotting. The symptoms associated with thrombocytopenia are are:
-nosebleeds
-bruises
-petechiae
-prolonged
bleeding from cuts
-blood in stool
or urine
-exceptionally
heavy menstruation
Petechiae are
small red spots under the skin caused by the rupture of blood vessels. If the
number of platelets is low action petechiae (thrombocytopenia).
